Visit West End — Restaurant Week
Visit West End, a Business Improvement District in Glasgow, launched ‘Restaurant Week’; a campaign designed to drive footfall to local restaurants during a quieter trading period. The challenge was to design and build a scalable campaign section within an existing Wix site, capable of showcasing multiple restaurants while supporting bookings and future reuse.
Campaign Hub Structure
A dedicated Restaurant Week section was created to act as a central hub; introducing the campaign, explaining how it works, and listing all participating venues. Clear calls-to-action guide users toward exploring restaurants and making bookings.
Scalable CMS Architecture
A reusable template was designed for individual restaurant pages, powered by a structured CMS setup. This allows new restaurants to be added, edited, or removed easily without redesigning pages, supporting both the current campaign and future annual events.
Booking Integration & Flexibility
Each restaurant page supports different booking methods; including embedded widgets (e.g. ResDiary) and external booking links. The system was designed to handle varying requirements while maintaining a consistent user experience.
Working Within Constraints
All functionality was implemented within Wix Editor and CMS limitations. Layouts, responsiveness, and integrations were carefully adapted to ensure performance and usability across devices.
Outcome
The result is a structured, reusable campaign system that enables Visit West End to promote Restaurant Week effectively, supporting over 20 participating venues at launch, simplifying content management, and providing a foundation for future annual campaigns.
